The name ‘Escape the Daily Grind’ was once just a dream, thought up during Richard’s years working in some of the UK’s leading coffee chains, and inspired by his time working in boutique coffee shops in Sydney.

Caffeine addict by nature, Richard set about finding the perfect location for his oasis of chill in the buzzing metropolis of London. Balham it was, and the first ‘Escape the Daily Grind’ coffee shop was opened in June 2015.

Within six months we had come ‘Runner Up’ in Time Out’s Love London Awards, testament to our passion for providing high quality coffee, delicious handmade cakes, freshly baked artisan pastries, lovingly prepared brunch with top class-service.
